Opportunistic Peruvian striker scores after goalkeeper collapses from heat exhaustion

If a goalkeeper collapses with heat exhausted, the concepts of sportsmanship and human compassion would dictate that the game is halted while treatment is administered.

Not so in the Peruvian Primera Divisin bout between Unin Comercio and Universidad Csar Vallejo, where Club Unin shot stopper Juan Flores appeared to feint shortly after collecting a shot.

The ball then rolls out of his grasp, and hearing no whistle, a defender attempts to clear the ball. But Csar Vallejo striker Piero Alva obstructed the clearance and ended up scoring.

According to The Guardian, Alva was not in an remorseful mood after the match, simply saying "Football is for the living." Which might be the most villainous thing ever said in a post-match interview.

  1. Peruvian soccer player Piero Alva said: " El futbol es para VIVOS" , the translation for what he really ment was" Futbol is for smart- asses, slick or sly people". not "Football is for the living." By the way his team was already winning. His actitude was bad.. He didn't respect the "fair-play". Needless to say..the ref should stop the game.
