Lionel Messis club record 233rd career goal for Barcelona
Lionel Messi scored his seventh hat trick of the season in Barcelona's 5-3 win over Granada and topped the club's all-time scoring record in the process. Messi's second goal of the night -- a neat chip that has become a trademark of his -- was his 233rd goal in all competitions, putting him ahead of Cesar Rodriguez, who played 13 years for Barca between 1942 and 1955. Messi topped him in less than eight years and did it at the age of 24.
It should be noted that if friendlies are included, Messi still has a ways to go before he catches Paulino Alcantara's 369 goals for the club (Messi has 254). He'll probably reach that by the weekend, though (he has 17 goals in his last seven matches...seriously).
