Cristiano Ronaldo encouraged Mallorca fans to jeer him, so they called him a Barbie

Real Madrid made easy work of Real Mallorca, winning 5-0 with two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo (and two more from Gonzalo Higuain plus one from Jose Callejon for good measure). That didn't quiet the home fans at the Iberostar Stadium though. Instead, they focused their ire on Cristiano Ronaldo, as most fans do in whichever town he visits. Ronaldo encouraged it too, but that only prompted Mallorca manager Joaquin Caparros to comment on his lack of humility and warn against his chances of winning the Ballon d'Or.

Following Ronaldo's first goal in the 22nd minute, he urged the Mallorca supporters showering him with jeers to do it louder, gesturing towards his ear like the anti-Hulk Hogan as he walked up the pitch. So, one section of fans sang "Cristiano es una Barbie" to the festive tune of "Guantanamera."

It seemed like all parties involved had a grand time with this back and forth -- especially since Cristiano thinks opposing fans jeer him because "I am handsome, rich and a great player, because I am envied." And hey, at least they didn't sing Messi's name at him like everyone else.

But Caparros didn't see the fun in this and decided to tell Ronaldo that he needs to be more boring. From Football Espana:

"He needs to show a lot more humility and a lot more ambition in other things because as a footballer he has it all.

"The statistics are there to prove it but he loses all that in these type of situations," said the 57-year-old in an interview with Punto Pelota.

Caparros also insisted it makes Ronaldo less worthy o! f winnin g the prestigious Ballon d'Or award.

"The Ballon d'Or is the sum of many values, like when they gave it to [Zinedine] Zidane or Kaka. It's the sum of a lot of things both on and off the pitch so it wouldn't be strange if he didn't win it."

The 2012 Ballon d'Or shortlist happened to be released on Monday and along with usual suspects Ronaldo and Messi, there were quite a few others who poses varying degrees of humility. Here are all 23 names on the list:

Sergio Agero (Argentina), Xabi Alonso (Spain),Mario Balotelli (Italy), Karim Benzema (France), Gianluigi Buffon (Italy), Sergio Busquets (Spain), Iker Casillas (Spain), Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal), Didier Drogba (Cte d'Ivoire), Radamel Falcao (Colombia), Zlatan Ibrahimovi (Sweden), Andrs Iniesta (Spain), Lionel Messi (Argentina), Manuel Neuer (Germany), Neymar (Brazil), Mesut zil (Germany), Gerard Piqu (Spain), Andrea Pirlo (Italy),Sergio Ramos (Spain), Wayne Rooney (England), Yaya Tour (Cte d'Ivoire), Robin van Persie (Netherlands), Xavi (Spain).

Sadly, Andrea Pirlo's beard did notreceiveits own individual nomination.
