Manchester United hot-shot Javier Hernandez back to haunt Chelsea

Javier Hernandez celebrates his goal on Sunday

Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez is ready to haunt Chelsea once again in the Capital One Cup tonight.

The Halloween clash between the Premier Leagues top two couldnt be more fitting for Chicharito, who has become Chelseas very own bogeyman.

The Little Pea ghosted into the six-yard box to fire the winner in Uniteds controversial 3-2 victory at Stamford Bridge last Sunday.

And he is in line to have another go at Roberto Di Matteos European champions as Sir Alex Ferguson plans to ring the changes.

United face Arsenal in another title six-pointer Saturday lunchtime so he is set to continue his squad rotation policy in the Capital One Cup.

That could see Hernandez handed a starting role possibly alongside Danny Welbeck.

And even if that means Chelsea could avoid coming up against Wayne Rooney or Robin van Persie, its still bad news for Di Matteos men.

Hernandez strike on Sunday was his fifth in eight games against Chelsea. He scored on his debut against them in the Community Shield in 2010 and has struck on his last two visits to Stamford Bridge.

He fired the equaliser as a substitute in last seasons thrilling 3-3 draw and he came off the bench once again on Sunday to score an albeit offside winner.

It was symbolic of his current form, which has seen him score three goals in his last two games, following his double against Braga in the Champions League last week.

The Mexican international is just happy to be back in the frame after seeing himself pushed down the pecking order behind Rooney, Van Persie and Welbeck this season.

The most important part is that we need to help the team, he said. I dont care if I sc! ore goal s or not. The most important thing for me is to have minutes to play games and, thankfully, I started the last game and then played against Chelsea.

Thats the most important thing for me to help the team it doesnt matter who scores goals.

Hernandez return to form has evoked memories of his first season at Old Trafford when he scored 20 goals as United clinched a record 19th title.

He struggled to reproduce those performances last term as Welbeck established himself ahead of him.

And this season he faces even more competition for a regular starting role following the 24m arrival of Van Persie.

The Dutchman has made a scintillating start since arriving from Arsenal, scoring nine goals already including one against Chelsea.

But Hernandez recent scoring spree taking his seasons total to four has been a timely reminder to Ferguson of what he can do.

Will Uniteddown Chelsea again? Have your say.
