Prince William loses a penalty shootout to a 13-year-old

There's nothing as quintessentially English as being terrible at penalties.

During his tour of the Solomon Islands with the Dutchess of Cambridge, Prince William upheld the principles of the Land of Hope and Glory by being really quite terrible at spot kicks. The Guardian reports:

[Prince William] stepped up to take three penalties as hundreds of locals looked on, warning: "This could go just about anywhere."

Prince William tucked his first penalty into the bottom-right corner but then quipped "here we go again" as two shots were saved by Philemon Fatai, 13, who said afterwards: "He's good but not as good as me."

Thankfully, after the event Prince William didn't resort to crying like John Terry or making Pizza Hut commercials like Gareth Southgate and Stuart Pearce.

While visiting the British Commonwealth islands, however, Wills did take the time to recruit some new few fans for his favorite team Aston Villa. (Trying to sell the inhabitants of a tropical Pacific island on the virtues of a team from Birmingham who narrowly avoided relegation last year is no easy feat, so the royal penalty fluffer should be commended for his endeavour.)

Prince William also revealed to locals that his wife Kate who remained fully clothed in case any Frenchpaparazziwere within a five-mile radius is "not so keen on the football".
