Even Fernando Torres scored a goal against the U.S.

With both sides starting the match with a few of their best players on the bench, Spain got their revenge on the U.S. for shocking the world and ending their 35-game unbeaten streak way back in the 2009 Confederations Cup semifinal. Though it was just a friendly, Spain walloped the U.S. on their home turf by a score of 4-0. Which probably won't do much to help the team's confidence just three days away from their first Gold Cup match against Canada.

So how complete was Spain's dismantling of the U.S.? Well, Fernando Torres scored the final goal less than 30 minutes after enter the match at halftime. Yes, the same Fernando Torres who only managed one goal against relegated West Ham after Chelsea paid 50 million for him in January. That Fernando Torres.

Borja Valero set him up with a perfect through ball and, though he flubbed an earlier chance, Torres just barely knocked it in off the far post with a toe-poke. The best part of this clip, however, is seeing Torres, flat on his stomach, take so long to realize that he actually scored a goal. It seems even he couldn't believe it.

But well done, Fernando. Maybe this and a bit of long overdue rest will help him return to his best form in the new season.
