OPENER: Nani gave United the lead with a well-taken strike
MANCHESTER Uniteds 100% start to the Premier League season came to an end as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Stoke.

However, Uniteds point in the Potteries edges them back above City at the top of the Premier League table on goal difference after the Blues leapfrogged them earlier in the day with a 2-0 win against Everton.

Wayne Rooney was unavailable due to a hamstring strain so Javier Hernandez and Dimitar Berbatov started up front for United, with injury forcing Hernandez off after just 11 minutes to be replaced by Michael Owen.

Nani gave the Reds a 27th-minute lead with a well-taken strike, following up his thunderbolt in last weeks 3-1 win over Chelsea.

But Peter Crouch headed a deserved 52nd-minute equaliser to give Stoke their first-ever Premier League point against the Reds.
