Valencia using their Twitter handle as shirt sponsor

In the absence of a paying shirt sponsor, Valencia decided to take the opportunity for a little self promotion and slapped their Twitter handle on the front of their shirts for their match against Barcelona on Wednesday. This might be the first time a top flight club advertised a Twitter account on their kits and with just under 35,000 followers as of this writing, it seems like they needed to get the word out.

Now that the precedent has been set, it probably won't be long until a company pays a club to put a Twitter handle on their shirts. Or stadium. Or foreheads.

Anyway, now seems like a good time to remind you that Dirty Tackle is also on Twitter.
