DTotD: Referee tackles player with the ball in Zenit-Shakhtar friendly

Referees often get accused of being out to get one team or another, but rarely do they resort to tackling the players. During a friendly between Zenit and Shakhtar Donetsk, Zenit's Viktor Fayzulin was trying to get around a defender just as the ref slipped into his path. It's hard to tell whether Fayzulin was tripped up by the feet of the downed official or the grappling defender or both.

The referee did blow the whistle after this incident, but unfortunately he did not show himself a yellow card.

This has been the Dirty Tackle of the Day: a chronicling of unfortunate events.
