Gossip: Manchester United set to scout Athletic Bilbao ace Oscar de Marcos

Manchester United are planning to scout Athletic Bilbao Oscar de Marcos in tonight's Europa League game at Sporting Lisbon, according to a report.

The 22-year-old, who scored in both legs against the Reds in the competition's last-16, is being earmarked as the goalscoring midfielder to fill Paul Scholes' shoes, report the Daily Mirror.

It is thought De Marcos, who can also play in a forward role,is valued at 26m.

Meanwhile, the Daily Star reckons United are preparing a 40m swoop for Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric.
