Fasten your seat belts, folks, this thrill-a-minute all-Manchester title race is going to the wire.

Uniteds incredible 4-4 home draw with Everton and Citys win at Wolves means Mondays Etihad derby wont clinch it.

But it will go a long, long way towards deciding whether Sir Alex Ferguson makes it a record 20th title for United or whether Roberto Mancini can end Citys 44-year wait for league glory.

Today United remain three points ahead of the Blues at the top and have the easier two final games on successive Sundays, hosting Swansea and then at Sunderland.

Neither of them have anything to play for while Citys opponents after the most important derby ever are Champions League-chasing Newcastle away and then ex-boss Mark Hughes relegation-threatened QPR at home.

Ferguson said: Weve given them the initiative. It makes the game at the Etihad Stadium more important its the decider really. Acknowledging Mondays game will be definitely the biggest derby of his 25-year United career, Ferguson added: We have to go there knowing we are capable of getting a result.

Mancinis in-form side capitalised on the lifeline handed to them by Uniteds draw with Everton 90 minutes earlier yesterday and that 2-0 win at Molineux sent Wolves through the relegation trapdoor.

A Super Sunday for City ends the risk of a potential nightmare scenario of United celebrating a title triumph in their backyard. But if the Reds win on Monday and avenge the humiliating 6-1 Old Trafford derby scoreline from October, Fergie would be six points clear and, with only two games left, it would all be over bar the shouting.

City do have the superior goal difference and the Blues faithful will point to the fact the race for the holy grail is back in their hands.

Betfred boss Fred Done, who has already paid out on United, now has the Reds at 4-9 with City 7-4. He said: Im not panicking, Im still comfortable with it, Fergie will win it for United. Experience is the key.

Mancini is continuing to play down Citys title hopes and engaging in mind games.

He said: Only one team can win this title. Its not in our hands. We have three points less. I congratulate Sir Alex Ferguson on a good season.
