Judith Hoyle has won the chance to see the most important derby ever thanks to the Manchester Evening News and Citys shirt sponsor Etihad Airways.

From over 200 entries, she came closest to matching M.E.N. Sports Desks ultimate Manchester XI.

We chose Peter Schmeichel, George Best, Denis Law, Sir Bobby Charlton, Colin Bell, Francis Lee, Mike Summerbee, Duncan! Edwards , Ryan Giggs, Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham as our line-up for a mixed United/City dream team.

Judith, who will be taking her 22-year-old daughter Alex with her to the game on Monday to enjoy VIP facilities at the Etihad Stadium and meet Blues legends, selected 10 of the side with the only change in her side being Eric Cantona instead of Edwards.

A spokesman for Etihad, which flies twice daily from Manchester to Abu Dhabi with connections to over 70 destinations worldwide, said: There was a tremendous response to this competition.

Its tough for City fans to include the likes of Beckham or Giggs, and equally difficult for Reds supporters to put in Bell and Summerbee in a Manchester all-star 11.

However, by asking relatives and friends of all ages, many did get a top 11 close to that selected by the MEN Sports Desk, although Judith was the closest, naming 10 of the 11.

Some popular players who missed out were Denis Irwin, who won a host of European and domestic trophies with United during 12 years at the club, and Tony Book, who won four trophies while at City, making him the clubs most decorated captain.

Most fans, particularly those of a United persuasion, thought Cantona who wore the No 7 for the Reds with such distinction should have been in the 11, but then who would have missed out?

Cool it! Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini plays down derby fever

Judith, a 53-year-old community group co-ordina! tor with Liverpool University, who is based in Manchester city centre, is a big United fan.

She said: Its brilliant to have won, and I want to thank the paper and airline so much. Its a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Judith, who lives in Mossley, Tameside, added: I think Best, Law and Charlton, together with Bell, Lee and Summerbee, are obvious ones to go into a dream 11.

The City trio of Lee, Bell and Summerbee were my heroes when I was a child and being brought up, but then I started switching my allegiance to United.

Then I picked Schmeichel because a goalie should be recognised, and he played for both clubs.

Although David Beckham isnt as good as someone like Lionel Messi, he has been a great ambassador for the game.

Giggs is an absolute United legend, still playing well into his 30s, and Ronaldo is still doing it for Real Madrid, and United did miss him when he left.

I can understand why the MEN chose Duncan Edwards, but I went for Cantona.

Although my daughter Alex, like me, is a Red, she just loves Mario Balotelli.

She thinks hes awesome, and maybe shell meet him on Monday.

Having said that, I wouldnt mind bumping into Mancini!
