Eden Hazard keeps Manchester United & Manchester City fans guessing
Eden Hazard has confirmed he is heading to England and the role he is offered will be a key factor when he chooses between the Manchester giants and Champions League winners Chelsea.
Belgian forward Hazard, 21, is poised to leave French club Lille for an expensive transfer to the Premier League, where he has been coveted by several clubs.
He claims three of the biggest teams in the country are now waiting to hear if he will accept their approaches.
Hazard told Belgian news website HLN: I do not know when Ill make a decision about my future club.
It will anyway be Manchester City, Manchester United or Chelsea.
The decision will depend on the amount of play I would see and the position where I would play.
Not everyone can say that he can make a choice between the three top clubs.
Disillusioned
Hazards agent John Bico said this week that agreement on personal terms has been reached with all parties interested in the young Belgium international.
Lille, however, said at the start of the week that they had not received a firm bid for Hazard.
Belgium play Montenegro in Brussels tonight and then take on England at Wembley on June 2, after which Hazard is set to announce his destination.
Meanwhile, United youngster Paul Pogba is on the brink of leaving Old Trafford for Juventus, according to the Italian clubs general director Giuseppe Marotta.
The Frenchman has been linked with the newly-crowned Italian champions for months after failing to agree a new Reds contract.
It appeared United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, after months of wrangling, had convinced the ! prodigio us French talent to commit his future to the Reds. But Marotta claims Pogba has agreed to join Juve during the close season.
He said: We have lured him away from Manchester United. We respected the rules.
Pogba, for his own reasons, didnt intend to renew his contract. Pogbas contract with United expires this summer and Juve will have to pay compensation for the 19-year-old midfielder.
Meanwhile, Reds outcast Dimitar Berbatov could be on his way to Paris St Germain.
The Bulgarian strikers agent Emil Danchev has hinted that a move to the French club is on the cards. The 31-year-old, who fell out of favour with Fergie this season, is set to leave after becoming disillusioned with life as the Reds fourth-choice forward behind Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez.
Sir Alex has made it clear he would be open to offers for Berbatov and the French club have money to spend from their mega-rich Qatari owners.
Danchev said: There are many speculations regarding Dimitar. But the truth is, that PSGs project can really interest him because he wants to play the Champions League next year.
Striking
Plus, there has never been a Bulgarian player at PSG, so it could be good.
Berbatovs fellow striker Michael Owen has already been released by Fergie as he looks to revamp his striking department.
He has stated his determination to stay in the Premier League and West Ham legend Tony Cottee feels the former England hitman would be ideal for the newly-promoted Hammers.
My first choice would be to go all out to get Michael Owen, said Cottee.
He may have had some injury problems, but a frontline of him and Carlton Cole would be great to see in the Premier League.
People forget that Owen is only 32 years old and I think that he still has lots of goals in him and would love to see him at Upton Park.!
