CARD MARKED: Mike Dean brandishes a yellow during RafaelManchester United full-back Rafael has been charged with improper control for his outburst during referee Mike Dean after being sent off in yesterday's goalless draw during Tottenham.

Rafael was sent off after being booked for a foul on Benoit Assou-Ekotto - he had been cautioned earlier in a match.

The FA pronounced in a statement: "Manchester United defender Rafael Da Silva has currently been charged by a FA with improper conduct.

"The assign relates to a player's control towards compare central Mike Dean following his exclusion in Manchester United's tie during Tottenham."

The United player has until 6pmon Tuesdayto respond to a charge.
