Fabio Coentrao was shown a red card for yelling from Real Madrids bench
Real Madrid followed up a draw in their first match of the season and a 3-2 loss in the first leg of the Supercopa to Barcelona by losing 2-1 to Getafe. In fact, it was such a bad day for Real that Fabio Coentrao was shown a red card without leaving the bench and Jose Mourinho said after the game that the loss was "absolutely deserved."
Coentrao didn't play at all against Getafe, but the frustrations of the day still got to him. During injury time, he shouted insults at the referee, who responded by showing him a red card and sending him back to the dressing room. Coentrao will be available to play the Supercopa second leg on Wednesday, but he will serve his resulting one-match ban during next weekend's league match against Granada.
