Sir Alex Ferguson: Young Reds are Manchester United future

Danny Welbeck in action against Wolves
Sir Alex Ferguson has again launched a defence of his young players, who were heavily criticised by former Reds favourite Roy Keane after Uniteds Champions League disaster.

United hammered Wolves 4-1 thanks to two goals apiece from Nani andWayne Rooney.

I dont understand people doubting these players, said the Reds manager after the win.

(Danny) Welbeck, (Chris) Smalling and (Phil) Jones have played for their country. If they are not that good, why are England playing them?

They are fantastic young players. They will be the foundation of our club for years.

It expanded on a comment in his programme notes about criticism from people we thought were on our side.

Though we may gnash our teeth, there is no use wailing about it, Ferguson said.

Has Saturday restored your faith in the squad? Have your say.
