Tigres win apertura, referee shows two yellows at the same time
After finishing the first leg of the Mexican Primera apertura final with a 1-0 lead, Tigres recovered from a Santos equalizer in the second leg to eventually win their first title in 29 years by an aggregate score of 4-1. The second leg kept Draculan referee Marco Rodriguez very busy with three straight red cards -- including one for Santos keeper Oswaldo Sanchez in the 11th minute -- and seven yellow cards.
In fact, there were so many bookings that Rodriguez started showing cards two at a time in the 56th minute. Which Santos' Carlos Morales found hilarious.
