Beckham got in a post-match argument with Salt Lake manager

With the MLS playoffs looming, the L.A. Galaxy came up with a 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake on Saturday night that got heated after the final whistle. Davey Becks, who helped set up both Galaxy goals (even though the second was an own goal), took exception to an over-the-shoulder comment from Salt Lake manager Jason Kreis while the two went around shaking hands after the match. Beckham then jogged over to Kreis and the two went nose to nose.

Beckham stuck a finger in Kreis' face, Kreis gave Beckham a light shove to the chest and the two were quickly separated by teammates and club officials.

The Salt Lake Tribune explains what started it:

Apparently Beckham, known to be a bit of, for a nice term, a temperamental lad, was upset that Kreis had yelled at referee Kevin Stott, who issued six yellow cards.

RSL had been hit with four cautions.

"Apparently [Beckham] thinks he's the only one who can yell at referees," Kreis said. "He wanted to continue [the discussion] after the game."

Kreis would have none of it, calling Beckham disrespectful. Kreis said he never talks to players and, as a player, never talked to coaches.

Except for Saturday night when he did just that.

If Kreis learned anything from this incident, hopefully it's the fact that Ricky doesn't back down from a confrontation.
