DTotD: Botafogo player trips teammate, loses the ball
One thing you won't see Barcelona do too much is trip each other in an attempt to gain possession of the ball and retain it for 137 percent of the game, as they tend to do. It just isn't a viable strategy. And in case you doubt that fact, allow Botafogo's Elkeson and Loco Abreu to illustrate why.
Though Abreu reached the ball first, Elkeson still decided to put a foot in and let it linger long enough to trip up Loco and let a Goianiense player take the ball. Elkeson then tried to rectify that situation by smashing into the opponent, but that only prompted the ref to blow his whistle. Other than that, this all worked out perfectly.
