Neymar gives ref sarcastic clap, cries after getting sent off
Neymar was shown a yellow for dissent and then sent off for sarcastically applauding the referee's decision, reducing Santos to nine men in the 84th minute of their 2-1 loss to Atletico MG on Thursday night. It was a silly thing to do and reminds us that even though he's one of the most coveted players in the world and already has a kid, he's still got some maturing to do. And back in the dressing room, he drove that point home by doing an impression of his son.
Said Santos manager Muricy Ramalho after the game (via Sambafoot):
"The player is angry. But he has to get used to it. He even cried in the locker room. You have to get used to and know that you will be a target.
"He acknowledges his mistake and apologizes. Neymaris a humble player, but he isstill learning."
So much pressure on such a young kid. It really is a shame. Still, you have to think that things would be going a lot better for him if he didn't have that haircut.
