Red on the rise: Paul Pogba spells out Manchester United ambition

PROSPECT: Paul Pogba
Paul Pogba is determined to prove he can become permanent fixture in Sir Alex Fergusons plans at Manchester United.

The highly-rated French midfielder has been tipped to become a future star at Old Trafford after impressing for Uniteds academy and reserve teams.

He made his first team debut against Leeds in the Carling Cup last month and has revealed that Ferguson has opted against sending him out on loan because he believes he could play a part for the club this season.

A possible loan to a Championship club was discussed early in the season, but Sir Alex said he did not want me to leave, said the 18-year-old. That makes me want to prove he was right in trusting me.

I am proud of what Im doing. Im getting closer to the first team and I hope to progress further this season.

Pogba is one of the biggest hopes from Uniteds successful FA Youth Cup winning side last season.

An elegant midfielder with a reputation for long-range shooting, Ferguson believes he could one become a lynchpin in the centre of the pitch in the guise of Roy Keane or Patrick Vieira.

I always dreamed of playing teams like Chelsea and Liverpool and now its coming true, said Pogba.

Will Pogba become a first team regular at United? Have your say.
