Holloway thinks people who run football are from planet Zarf
Sitting in the relegation zone with just a match at Old Trafford left to play, Blackpool need a result against Manchester United in order to keep Ian Holloway and his press conference comedy shows in the Premier League. And even though many are saying that Man United, with the title already wrapped up, will have to play a weakened team (as Holloway was fined for doing earlier this season) if Blackpool are to have a shot, Ian is keeping sight of what's important: Being funny.
From the BBC:
"I am so annoyed. Sir Alex Ferguson is a winner. He would never dream of not being interested in winning any match," said the 48-year-old, whose side led 2-0 before losing 3-2 in January's reverse fixture.
"That man deserves to pick whatever team he wants to pick. No one should question it.
"Those people running the game, what planet are they on? They must have beamed down from planet Zarf.
"How dare they talk about Sir Alex like that? Haven't they seen how successful he is?"
Stroking Sir Alex's ego is certainly an interesting strategy, but that aside, he's totally right about the planet Zarf business. I mean, how else could you possibly explain the existence of Sepp Blatter?
I really hope people start shouting "Go back to Zarf!" when they see him in public now. That would just be bewildering.
