Cristiano Ronaldo sets La Liga record with 39th goal

At the rate he's been scoring this year it almost seemed a certainty and just four minutes into Real Madrid's final match, it happened -- Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 39th goal of the season for a new La Liga record.

With nine goals in his three previous matches, Ronaldo has been scoring at a pace that would normally require a cheat code in order to reach the record previously held by Real Madrid legend Hugo Sanchez and Athletic Bilbao's black and white hero Telmo Zarra. But now, it's Ronaldo's. And Messi has a new goal to aim for next year.
