Liverpool, Fulham taunted with CL trophies at Craven Cottage

Both the men's and women's Champions League trophies were pitchside at Craven Cottage before Liverpool's 5-2 win over Fulham on Monday. The trophies were at the site of the Women's Champions League final as part of their worldwide tour. And while the two glistening globs of metal just sat there being inanimate, they silently taunted the two teams over the fact that they have no chance of winning either of them this season.

It was pure cruelty from UEFA and move that was most likely suggested by their conspiratorial partners, the dastardly UNICEF, who have the duel function of denying trophies to certain football clubs and providing food to starving children. At least, that's what Jose Mourinho told me.

The next stops on the trophy tour will be Charters School, Trafalgar Square and Heathrow Terminal 5, where even more people will be able to get a close look at the souvenirs they will not be winning.
