Man United's new anthem isn't exactly the greatest song ever
Manchester United will debut a new tune to rally support and strike fear in hearts of Man City supporters at Saturday's derby. Or it'll induce eye-rolls and mocking laughter. And judging by snap reactions from Man United fans and haters alike, it seems the latter is the more likely scenario.
From the people who produced the comparatively awesome "Chico is The Man" comes "United Road"-- the club's schmaltzy new anthem, which will actually be played for all to hear at Old Trafford.
From the Telegraph:
The song is called the United Road and was written by Will Robinson and Daniel Ryan, the same song writers who produced the re-worked 2009 version of 'Glory Glory Man United' which featured Korean violinist Jenny Bae.
The vocals on United Road will be performed by Richie, who previously sang Manchester United Number One. [...]
"I am totally inspired to write lyrics about United - they have achieved so much and are a great club, said Robinson.
Sadly, I don't think too many people will be saying the same about your song.
They should have just stuck with "Glory Glory Man United" or, better yet, The Stone Roses' "This is The One."
