Rooney emerges from the shadows, scores wondrous derby winner

A dramatization of Wayne Rooney's goal.

After an increasingly typical anonymous performance in the first half, Wayne Rooney showed a flash of brilliance with an overhead kick that would melt your Playstation (see it here). His stunning goal in the 78th minute was enough to give Manchester United a 2-1 win over Man City and overshadow the goal David Silva scored with his back (see it here).

Given how the rest of his day went, it's hard to say that the old Wayne Rooney is back. But when you're scoring powerful and acrobatic goals in one of his club's biggest matches of the season, it doesn't really matter how good you looked the rest of the day.

And, of course, David Beckham, Premier League Spectator, was there to see it.
